Hi, I'm Jenny Krieg from Poolesville, Maryland, which is not too far from Washington, DC.

I have loved horses since I was a child, and in 1983 was able to get my first Arabian, the wonderful Al Khamsa combined source stallion Rafik El Bedu. Rafik is behind much of my deep love for the Al Khamsa Arabian horse, and his memory continues to inspire. Although I've never owned a farm, I have been fortunate to be able to breed a few horses in the Davenport, Egyptian, and combined source groups.

My particular focus is endangered Al Khamsa lines. I obtained HS Marayah, who carries the rare tail-female line to *Layya, a 1943 Hearst import of the Shaykhah strain, as a preservation project. I fell in love with Marayah as an individual and she has become a wonderful riding partner. In 2009, she foaled a bay filly, Labwah al-Shaykhah, who is my pride and joy. Another effort, to replace the Bahraini stallion *Mlolshaan Hager Solomon within Al Khamsa, resulted in the 2011 filly Ubayyat Al-Bahrain. I am currently working with the Doyle family to breed Sarita Bint Raj, the last remaining link to Al Khamsa Foundation horses *Al-Mashoor and *Euphrates.

The year 1983 was also when I was introduced to Al Khamsa, and I have been a supporter ever since. In 2001 I was named a member of the board. Since then I have had the honor to serve as secretary, vice president and president, and to meet and work with some of the finest people I've ever known.
