Hi, I'm Megan King.

I am a second generation breeder and admirer of Al Khamsa Arabians. My parents, Tom and Lesley Detweiler, own Mountain Spring Farm where I learned how to breed, train and show horses. My first Al Khamsa horse was a combined source mare named CRF Nieme. I trained her under the tutelage of my mother, Lesley, when I was nine years old. I learned so much about communication and discipline from her and the horses.

In my travels around the world I always seek out the Asil Arabians. I saw one grey Arabian stallion in Iraq who greatly resembled the desert lines in the US and I have visited stables in Ireland, France and hopefully soon Dubai.

My husband, Ollie and I own Riverton Farm in South Central Pennsylvania. We have Sheykh Obeyd and Combined Source Al Khamsa Arabians. We believe in athletic performance where the horses can compete in disciplines that suit their aptitudes. Our horses are ambassadors for the Arabian breed and Al Khamsa as they meet people in various venues allowing us to educate others about Al Khamsa. It is a great privilege to service on the Board of Directors of Al Khamsa.
