The Future is Here!!
Your donations have made this possible, so that we can keep expanding the usefulness of our
FREE Al Khamsa Roster
Al Khamsa now has both the data and the knowledge to be able to mark the endangerment level of our Foundation horses directly on the pedigree of any breeding age stallion or mare.
Currently we have implemented the marking above the labels for the Tail Male and Tail Female shown on the pedigree, if either or both are in one of the following defined categories. The name of the category is what will be displayed.
| Category | Breeding Age Offspring |
| Critically Endangered | 0-20 |
| Endangered | 21-40 |
| Threatened | 40-80 |
| Watching | 80-160 |
Breeding Age Offspring is currently defined for Stallions less than or equal to 30 and Mares less than or equal 25.
The exact number of breeding offspring remaining is not displayed but is available by inquiry using our Contact Us form.
This completes the first half of this project of annotating pedigrees with Foundation Horse endangerment.
Part 2 of this project will occur in 2025 when we will be able to show the endangerment level of every Foundation Horse in a breeding age stallion or mare. The categories used will be the same, the breeding age will remain the same, only the limits of each category will differ. The data needed to support the marking has already been generated as part of the group of endangerment tables we generate from the Roster.
The endangerment tables will be updated to reflect any new data introduced to the roster by our normal quarterly updates of new registrations and also after a special update should one occur.
Our goal is maintaining the Roster and the pedigree endangerment marking as current as is possible.
