A Wadnah Khursaniyah of the marbat owned by Bandar Ibn Sa'dun, Shaykh of the Muntafiq. Imported to Egypt, where she was owned by Ali Pasha Sharif.
Mahroussa's dam was (or was descended from) al-Faras al-Sawdah, a "black" Wadnah Khursaniyah of Bandar Ibn Sa'dun.
NOTES: The above information (except for the date, which is an Al Khamsa estimate based on the life of Bandar Ibn Sa'dun [died 1845] and the birth of Mahruss c1875) is from Archer [1978, p100], based on access to records of the Blunts. Lady Anne Blunt in a herd book entry for Mahruss (BLT) describes this mare, not by name, but as the grey daughter of the 'black' mare of Bandar Ibn Sa'dun [MB].
