A Kuhaylat 'Ajuz mare of the marbat of Ibn Jallab (or Kuhaylah Jallabiyah).

NOTES: The date is an Al Khamsa estimate. This entry represents a named intermediate ancestor between Jellabiet Feysul herself and the Jallabiyat in the stud of Ali Pasha Sharif in the 1880s. In fact, this entry may actually cover several generations of breeding in this line by Abbas Pasha and Ali Pasha Sharif, and may further refer to several different daughters of Jellabiet Feysul. The tendency for important mares in this line to be called by the same names further complicates the picture.

Colin Pearson and Peter Upton both present material based on the writing of Lady Anne Blunt. Upton [1989, 282] describes Bint Jellabiet Feysul as a c1868 chestnut mare, and on p149 says that she was imported, as was her dam, to Egypt for Abbas Pasha. However, since Abbas Pasha died in 1854, it is not likely that this estimated date is correct. Pearson [1988, xxxiv] merely shows this mare as a name between Jellabiet Feysul and the Bint Bint Jellabiet Feysul called El Argaa.

Raswan Index entry #1458 describes Bint Jellabiet Feysul as a mare by Shuwayman As-Sabbah out of Jellabiet Feysul (AP), and gives alternate names of Aziza Al Makbula for the mare and Waziria for her dam. Shuwayman As-Sabbah is described in Index entries #1052 and #9768 as a Shuwayman Sabbah stallion foaled in the stud of Abbas Pasha and out of Wadihah. Wadihah, according to a translation of the Abbas Pasha manuscript [Forbis/Sherif, 1993, 280-1], was a chestnut Shuwaymah Sabbah mare stolen from the Saba'ah tribe by the Ruwalah tribe and imported into Egypt for Abbas Pasha. Her sire was said to be the famous desert sire, Al Mahyubi al-A'raj. [Also see Jellabiet Feysul (AP)]
