A Pre-Registration Horse
NOTES: Lady Anne Blunt [J&C, 11.30.1898] reports seeing the Ali Pasha Sharif stall sign for Wazir which says foaled 1863. Lady Anne, in a herd book entry for Makbula (APS), described Wazir as by Zobeyni, "original horse," and out of Ghazieh, "original mare" [Bowling, see p123]. Wazir is also detailed in the pedigree on p12a of the RAS History.
Raswan Index entry #10945 shows Wazir as a c1870 grey stallion by Zobeyni and out of a bay mare bred by Ali Pasha Sharif and named Ghazieh. This entry further says that the Blunts purchased Wazir. From Lady Anne's journal entries, neither of these statements would be correct. In the initial Raswan Index entries, Raswan calls Wazir "Waziri." Corrections entry #1452 changes the name to Wazir.
