A Pre-Registration Horse
A Saqlawiyah Jidraniyah of the marbat of Ibn Sudan.
NOTES: The 1932 certified pedigree for *Bint Serra I from Prince Kamal al-Din describes Horra as by Zobeyni out of Ghazieh. No breeder, date or color is shown. Lady Anne Blunt stated, in a herd book entry for Bint Helwa (APS) [Bowling, see p123], that Horra was a white mare by Zobeyni and out of Ghazieh, and in context, that Ali Pasha Sharif was the breeder. In a journal entry, Lady Anne [J&C, 11/25/1880] called Horra an "own sister to Wazir," which is assumed to mean of the same pedigree.
The Raswan Index contains entries for two mares named Horra. Entry #3833 is for a Saqlawiyah Jidraniyah mare of the marbat of Ibn Sudan, brought to Egypt from the Ruwalah for Abbas Pasha. #3834 is for a c1870 grey mare (also called Bint Zobeyni) by Zobeyni but out of a different mare named Ghazieh: a bay foaled in 1860 by an Ibn Nura [foaled in 1849 and described under Bint Azz (APS)] out of Ghazieh (AP) and bred by Ali Pasha Sharif. Several Index corrections entries also refer to these two mares named Horra. #859 says that the Ruwalah mare must also have been out of Ghazieh (AP). #860 says that the 1870 Horra produced all of the mares named Bint Horra and that all mares named Bint Horra were "bred exclusively to Ibn Nura (II)," the stallion he dates to 1849.
