A Pre-Registration Horse
A Hamdaniyah Simriyah bred at the stud of Ali Pasha Sharif. Purchased from her breeder by Wilfrid and Lady Anne Blunt in 1891 and imported to England by the Blunts later that year. Sold to the Russian government stud at Derkoul in 1899.
NOTES: The above information (except for the name of the dam-described simply as a Hamdaniyah Simriyah purchased by Mahmud Bey at a sale of Abbas Pasha stock-and the later transfer to Russia) is from the entry for Sobha in Weatherby's General Stud Book, Vol. XVII, p813. This information, including the name of the dam and the transfer to Russia, is consistent with entries in Archer [108].
