A Pre-Registration Horse
A Hamdani Simri. Also spelled Senari/Sennary/Sinary.
NOTES: The sire and dam shown above are from the RAS History, p33, the 1932 certified pedigrees of *Bint Bint Sabbah and *Bint Bint Durra from the Royal Agricultural Society and of *Fadl and *Maaroufa from the Manial Stud of Prince Mohamed Aly.
The birthdate is based on Lady Anne Blunt [J&C, 3.11.1891] seeing Muniet El Nefous with a new colt by Mes'aud, as Koheilan El Mossen was called. She says "at present chestnut in colour but only 12 days old." Later, Lady Anne [J&C, 11.27.1909] says "... and I saw the chestnut Hamdani Simri sire as a colt at Ahmed Bey Sennari's. His dam and sire were the bay Hamdanieh Simrieh (Muniet el Nefus) and the grey Kehilan Mesenneh, well known horses brought by E... from the desert to Sennari." The color is confirmed in an early handwritten herd book of Prince Mohamed Aly.
In other references, Lady Anne describes Muniet El Nefous as being of Abbas Pasha descent [see p194].
Raswan Index entry #9310 describes El Sennari ("wrongly called Antar") as by Koheilan El Mossen out of Muniet El Nefous and bred by Ahmed Bey Sennari of Abbas Pasha stock. References concerning Koheilan El Mossen, however, make it clear that he was imported in the late 1800s for Ahmed Bey Sennari, and would not be of Abbas Pasha lineage. [See Koheilan El Mossen (KDV). Also see the entry for Farida Dabbani (APS)]
