A Pre-Registration Horse
A Saqlawi Jidran of the marbat of Ibn Zubayni. Purchased by M. Suarès in March, 1897 from Ali Pasha Sharif and purchased from Suarès through Jacques Valensin by Lady Anne Blunt for Sheykh Obeyd stud in 1901. Presented to the Royal Agricultural Society by Lady Anne in 1917. Died 1921.
NOTES: The above information (except for breeder and the intermediate ownership between Ali Pasha Sharif and the RAS) is from the entry for Jamil in the RAS History, p37. However, the breeder is erroneously shown there as Lady Anne Blunt. The information as shown above is consistent with the entry for Jamil in the Blunts' Sheykh Obeyd herd book [Pearson, 146]. Lady Anne Blunt [J&C, 4.8 and 4.19.1901] makes it clear that Jamil was purchased by Lady Anne from Suarès under the circumstances shown above.
