A Foundation Horse
A Saqlawi Jidran of the marbat of Ibn Sudan, bred by Ibn Sudan of the Ruwalah [see Ghazieh (AP)], and imported prior to 1855 to Egypt for Abbas Pasha. Also spelled Sneyd.
NOTES: The above information (except for the dates, which are Al Khamsa estimates, and the color) is from the 1932 certified pedigree for *Bint Serra I from the stud of Prince Kamal al-Din. The pedigree spells the name "Sneyd." Lady Anne Blunt in a handwritten herd book entry for Feysul reproduced photographically in Upton [1980, p8] describes Sueyd as "a fleabitten Seglawi Jedran (original horse) from Ibn Sudan."
