A Pre-Registration Horse
A chestnut Kuhaylan 'Ajuz of the marbat of Ibn Jallab (or Kuhaylan Jallabi) bred at Sheykh Obeyd Stud, Egypt. Imported to England in 1904 by the Blunts. In 1920 Ibn Yashmak was purchased from the Blunts' daughter, Lady Wentworth, by the Royal Agricultural Society and re-imported to Egypt. Died 1927.
NOTES: The above information (except for the death date) is from the entry for Ibn Yashmak in Weatherby's General Stud Book, Vol. XX p945. The strain was changed from Abayyan to Kuhaylan-Ajuz (Jallabi) in Vol. XXI p900. [For more detail, see the entry under Yemama (APS)]
The entry for Ibn Yashmak in the RAS History, p41 adds the death date and is otherwise consistent with the corrected GSB entry. The corrected information is also consistent with the entry for Ibn Yashmak in the Blunt's Sheykh Obeyd herd book (Pearson, 1988, p142).
