A Saqlawiyah Jidraniyah of the marbat of Ibn Sudan. Also spelled Sara or Sarra.
NOTES: The above information (except for the birthdate and color) is from the 1932 certified pedigree for *Bint Serra I from the stud of Prince Kamal al-Din. Lady Anne Blunt's Sheykh Obeyd herd book [Pearson, 143] shows the same information, adding birthdate and color. Colin Pearson [ibid, xxiv], states that Serra went to the stud of Prince Kamal al-Din, then to that of T.G.B. Trouncer.
A letter dated 12.2.1918 from Hampson Gary of the American Consulate in Cairo to Col. D.E. Brown of Gorham, New Hampshire, concerning the disposition of the Sheykh Obeyd horses says that "... Immediately upon receipt of [your] telegram [11.20.1918] I had one of my secretaries call on Prince Kamal Din [Kamal al-Din] for a reply. The Prince stated that he had purchased sixteen [apparently all] of Lady Blunt's [sic] horses and that he had already sold seven of them... He expressed surprise that his purchase of these horses was known..." [For further information see Feyda (BLT)]
Jack Humphrey (in a letter dated 3.4.1932 from Cairo to W.R. Brown, for whom he was serving as agent) described seeing and photographing Serra at the stud of Prince Kamal al-Din, so the transfer took place soon after Lady Anne Blunt's death, and Serra was still owned by him 15 years later.
